A free program to open and manipulate .pic files from the confocal. Download "Setup402.EXE" and install.
ImageJ
Free from NIH. This program runs on any system running JAVA. Download the version that fits your system and install. Also download the plugins RBG Stack Merge and Open Biorad Z-series. Install as per directions provided and place the plugins in the plugins folder. This program is similar to Confocal Assistant, but has many more options for advanced users.
